Vases produced in celebration of 70 years of the York Nativity Play in Aldermaston, by potters Ursula Waechter and Andrew Hazelden.
The vase Ursula and Andrew have made is inspired by the fondly remembered ‘buttercup vase’ – a favourite shape produced at The Aldermaston Pottery.
There is a display at Kerry’s flower shop (Mad Hatters Floral Design) in Aldermaston, where vases can be viewed, chosen and collected.
Ursula studied Ceramics at Bath Academy of Art and Andrew at Epsom Art School. Around the mid eighties they both came to work for and later on alongside Alan Caiger-Smith at The Aldermaston Pottery. Since the pottery closed both Ursula and Andrew have continued to work with brush-painted tin-glazed earthenware in their own workshops and developed their own styles.
